If you are interested in singing lessons with Elen, send her an enquiry and she will get back to you to schedule a consultation lesson. Consultation lessons are either 30 minutes or 1 hour (depending on age) and are essential for gaining an understanding of your current vocal abilities. During this session, Elen will introduce various exercises and fun songs to the student. Following this, Elen will offer a tailored teaching plan in line with everything discussed during the session.

Singing lessons and consultation lessons cost £40 for an hour or £25 for 30 minutes. Elen teaches students from the age of 7 years and above, and advises children age 7-14 to have 30 minute lessons and 14+ to have 1 hour lessons. However, this is the student’s choice entirely.

If the student decides to accept Elen’s tailored teaching plan, Elen will ask the student (or parent/guardian of the student) to sign a contract which outlines Elen’s cancellation policy as a self-employed singing teacher.

  • Your ability to sing in tune is absolutely essential, and it might not come naturally for beginners. Don’t let this discourage you though, because it can be trained! Singing lessons with Elen will focus on the coordination between the mind and the muscles in the larynx.

  • Song learning and building your repertoire is a fun way of incorporating vocal technique into the music you enjoy performing! Elen can teach various genres such as classical, opera, musical theatre and art song.

  • Elen will teach her students how to perform in front of an audience. This involves posture, facial expressions, colour and body language.

  • Preparing for exams and competitions can be stressful, but also happens to be one of Elen’s most experienced fields. Elen is well informed about ABRSM and Trinity exams and local and National Eisteddfod competitions in Wales, and can help her students prepare an impressionable and perfected performance.

  • These are requirements in ABRSM and Trinity exams, and also very useful if you wish to become a professional singer. Elen can help her students prepare for music theory tests, aural tests and sight reading tests.
